Heaven, The City Of Fascination
Revelation 21:9-27
The SIGHTS, SOUNDS & SMELLS Of Heaven
- Near the end of this great book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ, we find a vivid description of the new Heaven and the City of it, The New Jerusalem. We see from scripture that all our senses that we have now will be continued in the eternity after our death. Christians will be amazed at the sights we'll see when we close our eyes in death. God promises the most beautiful sights we've ever seen. The streets of gold will absolutely floor us. The bright light of the glory of God will fill Heaven and will fascinate us. Paul the Apostle saw a glimpse of this bright light when Jesus called him into service and knocked him off his high horse of hating and hunting christians. There will be no night in Heaven, it's continually daytime and we'll never grow tired. Heaven will never have a moment of boredom, we'll be fascinated by God's glory for all eternity. "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." (I Corinthians 2:9) Everyone is promised this if we've been born again, trusting Jesus in his once-for-all sacrifice on the cross of Calvary. The Sounds will fascinate us as well, the great singing and music we'll experience in Heaven. No more sounds of Hurricanes, Explosions of war, no more crying at all. Only great things we love to hear. Birds chirping, your puppies barking and also the incredible sound of wings flapping by the angels of Heaven! The SMELLS of Heaven will be absolutely wonderful, imagine fresh bread baking anytime we want it. Eating wonderful food is awaiting us, no more hunger or famine! We'll praise God directly for it, knowing he is the one who supplies it all!
The SPECIAL INHABITANTS Of The City
- There are room for mansions for EVERYONE in Heaven! It's the promise from Jesus himself: "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." (John 14:2) God always keeps his promises and we'll get to see an individual mansion designed and built by the great carpenter that will fascinate us! Along with our own mansion, there'll be ALL the believers in Jesus from the beginning of time! We'll get to meet Adam, Eve, Abel, Noah, Abraham, Issac, Jacob, Moses, Joshua, Elijah, Elisha, King David and all the rest of the prophets! All the Apostles will be there, along with Mary and the disciples. And for us personally...we'll see all our family loved ones who died before us! There will be INCREDIBLE Family Reunions in Heaven. GLORY!
The SIZE Of Heaven
- Last, but not least, the SIZE of Heaven will blow our minds. Watch and listen to Pastor Rains lay out the massive size of the New Jerusalem (the city) and the countryside just outside the walls of the city. You don't want to be left behind with no hope for this promised HEAVEN. Don't let it be said of you that you rejected the promise of the creator himself, the Lord Jesus Christ!
