Revival Continues In Jerusalem
By Dr. Bill Rains, Senior Pastor | June 14, 2026
Father, thank you for this great host that’s assembled together in this place today... open all of our hearts to receive what you are telling each one of us. And Lord, anyone here that has not had that born-again experience... God help them to make this hour that time in their lives in Jesus’ name. Amen.
On June 14, 2026, Dr. Bill Rains preaches Revival Continues In Jerusalem from Nehemiah 9:1-5. Even after powerful days of revival, God’s people continued seeking Him with fasting, confession, and wholehearted worship—showing us that revival doesn’t have to end.
1. Seeking God
The people assembled with fasting, sackcloth, and earth upon them. They did not come to church merely to check a box or pacify their consciences. They came still seeking God after days of revival. They wanted God more than food, more than the pleasantries of life. “They came again... still seeking God.” We should never stop seeking God in our lives. How we come to church matters just as much as how we leave.
2. Separating Themselves from Strangers
The seed of Israel separated themselves from all strangers and stood confessing their sins and the iniquities of their fathers. They separated from the world to prove they meant business with God. This involves separating from certain people, practices, and places that dishonor Christ. As 2 Corinthians 6:14-18 urges, “Come out from among them and be separate.” Who we connect with rubs off on us. True revival requires adjusting our lives to align with God’s will.
3. Standing in Their Place
They stood in their place and read the book of the law of the Lord their God one fourth part of the day, and another fourth part they confessed and worshiped. They stayed put for hours in the Word and in prayer. Everyone has a place in the house of God—pastor, teachers, singers, deacons, and the people in the pews. We must stand in our place and stay there. “After you’ve done everything, stand.” (Ephesians 6:13) Quitters are common, but those who stand in their place shake the world for Jesus Christ.
Revival continues when we keep seeking God, separate ourselves unto Him, and stand faithfully in our place. Don’t let revival become just a phase—let it mark your life.
Dr. Rains closed with a powerful challenge: After 47½ years as pastor, he is still seeking God and standing in his place. Will you do the same? Let us all stand and get right with God if we need to, applying His Word to our lives today.
