Luke 24:31-35

Something Special About Our Savior

Jesus loved the two disciples so much that he wanted them to know that everything they thought was wrong was actually what he willed to happen.

He fulfilled his mission to sacrifice himself on the cross for any and all people who choose to believe in him.

He encouraged the disciples during the walk and then by revealing himself to them at their home when they finally recognized him.

Something Special About the Scriptures

The Bible is the words of life from God himself.

God used holy men to write the Bible exactly as he wanted them to.

The Lord has given us his plan for all of human history, and it is a good one!

The Scriptures are special because God laid out the plan in many prophecies that were spoken before Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary.

The fulfillment of these prophecies gives us an absolutely sure, positive hope for eternal life if we will only trust in Jesus for our salvation!

Something Special About His Servants

Cleopas and his wife had seemingly lost their faith in the very scriptures that predicted the Messiah's coming.

They did not understand that this was the first coming of the Lord.

He came as a lamb that would fulfill the prophecy of the "passover lamb" once and for all, ending the cruel but necessary sacrifice of innocent animals to temporarily cover our sin.

Jesus knew their despair and showed them from the scriptures how He would do ALL the work necessary to gain salvation.

They couldn't work to do this; they simply had to believe and confess Jesus as savior to join the family of God.

Many faithful servants at Mission Baptist follow the lead of the original disciples.

You too can join the Family of God by trusting Jesus.
